Different aspects of psychological issues

Psychological issues encompass a range of areas in one’s life. These issues can stem or impact emotions, cognitive processing/perspectives, behavior, your environment, motivation, they can stem from biological sources or it can intersect among all these areas. Emotions can include the feelings that one experiences due to a stressor or psychological issue in your life; i.e. feelings of guilt, sadness, anxiety, etc. Cognitive processing revolves around how you think about a situation and your thought processes. For example, one may perceive the events occurring in their life as being caused due to their own action, thus blaming themselves without considering environmental factors. Some may not appreciate the control they have in a situation and feel helpless. An individual’s behavior can be influenced by a psychological issue; i.e. depression may lead to lowered energy levels, loss of appetite, sleeping problems, etc. OCD may lead to the repetition of certain behaviors in order to reduce anxiety levels. In terms of your environment, the psychological issue at hand influences your environment which ultimately influences you. Various elements in your environment can worsen or improve your condition, depending on what your issue is. For example, an addict may find triggers in his/her environment which may worsen their addictions since these may be prompting substance use. Motivation is also related to the psychological issues at hand. In some cases, motivation is severely impacted by the psychological issue; i.e. depression can lead to a noticed lack of motivation. Also, motivation can influence whether one decides to seek treatment or not. The source of motivation to seek help can vary from one person to the next. Finally, various psychological issues have a biological basis. These are dealt with through medical interventions. It is important to remember that everyone has differing opinions and some may not support the use of medications as a solution to psychological issues; in general some support medical interventions while some believe it is most effective when combined with therapy, etc. It is your right to voice your opinion and it is your right to do whatever you feel comfortable with when seeking treatment.
